DA Leader, Mmusi Maimane, Cries Out As Media Dumps DA
Newly elected DA leaders, Mmusi Maimane, has expressed unhappiness about the manner in which media reports in South Africa. He once again blamed the ANC for having shifted media attention from the DA to other news reports.
Mmusi believes that ownership of press by black companies is the reason for media shift. He cited the takeover of Independent Group by Sekunjalo and ownership of The New Age newspaper by non-white family as main reasons for his concern.
Maimane called upon the ANC to stop these transfer of media groups to black owners because he believes they are all connected to the party.
“How far the governing party will go to prevent this from happening is not yet clear. But judging by the way they are already trampling on our press freedom‚ it does not bode well.”said Maimane.
