World Economic Forum Affirms Zuma's Administration

The World Economic Forum report on Annual Global Competitiveness shows that the decision by Zuma's administration to re-arrange priorities of his administration has finally paid off.

The WEF report shows that South Africa has moved 7 ranks up from 56 to 49 on 140 countries on Global Competitiveness Index in just one year.

This is a big blow to opposition parties especially the DA, as it has tried all means to create a false impression that South Africa was is not improving.

The report looks at countries' various sectors like education, health, macro-economic environment, innovation and others crucial areas.

When Zuma became the President he pushed for his administration to reduced areas of priority from many to just 5 which is a task that is always difficult for any government in the world. His administration was also re-configured to give it a dedicated approach to challenges it faces. Education was made number one priority.

The WEF report shows that Zuma's reconfiguration of his administration has actually paid off, with health and primary education (up 6 places), efficiency (up 6 places), technological readiness (up 16 places), and innovation (up 5 places).

South Africa also showed improvement in the areas of: macro-economic environment (up 4 places), higher education and training (up 3 places), and business sophistication (up 2 places).

In a statement President Zuma encouraged all sectors of the society including business to work together with government in implementing policies and programmes that were designed to improve the country’s global competitiveness particularly in areas where the country has dropped.
