This comes after Scheepers made his first court appearance in the Bellville District court today. He is facing 19 fraud counts, 19 corruption counts and 1 tender fraud count related to his company that was allegedly hired by Helen Zille to spy on some government officials.
Eagle Eye Solutions Technology, which does surveillance and tracing, was awarded a contract with by Helen Zille to “debug” the cellphones of government officials. This arrangement is in violation of Electronic Communications Act.
Numerous news reports are speculating that Zille might also be charged along with Scheepers if sufficient evidence is presented during his trial.
